Trigger Point

Trigger point injections are used to treat areas of muscle that are extremely sore or have tight, painful knots called trigger points. Trigger points often refer pain to other parts of the body.

Trigger point injections are beneficial when other methods such as physical therapy or manipulative therapy do not alleviate symptoms. These injections are common and simple to perform in the office.

Patients sometimes experience minor discomfort from the injection but any pain or swelling should subside within a couple days. Ice, massage, and stretching can help recovery.
